Fudge Brownies

Warning: These rich brownies are highly addictive. In our house, they are the family favorite. Once you try them, you'll never be satisfied with a "mix" brownie again.

Chocolate Chip Cookies Serves: 5-6 chocoholics (12 ordinary folk)


  • 2¼ cups all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 lb. butter
  • 3/4 cup cocoa
  • 2 cups sugar
  • 3 beaten eggs
  • 1 tsp. vanilla extract
  • 1 Tbsp. instant coffee dissolved in water
  • 1 cup sifted flour
  • 1/4 tsp. salt

Cooking Instructions

  1. Heat oven to 350° F. Grease and flour a 9-inch square baking pan.
  2. Melt butter in medium sauce pan over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in next 5 ingredients. Sift flour and salt together and add to sauce pan.
  3. Bake for 45 to 50 minutes. Cool completely before cutting into squares.

Cooking Notes

In place of cocoa, you may use 4 oz. unsweetened chocolate. Melt the chocolate with the butter before adding the other ingredients.
